Ignite App

Ignite: Social Action App

ux & ui design

With the aftermath of hate crimes and violence towards minority groups in the wake of the 2016 election, and a desire to help but a lack of user-friendly resources to do so, I designed a potential app that sought to aggregate events and actionable items in order to make it easier to get involved in social action. Test it out here.

Ignite is centered around completing actions, whether that be calling your legislators, donating to organizations that fight for what you believe in, or registering to vote.

To set up the app, take a quiz on your political values and location so Ignite can determine who your legislators are, break down how bills affect you personally, and populate sample scripts when reaching out to your lawmakers. Stay updated on what your lawmakers are doing–their actions show up in your newsfeed alongside your friends.

For those who have doubts about how their actions can make a difference, explore the extensive resource guide. It explains why and how to reach out to your legislators, lists your rights in public spaces during protests and marches so you can stay smart and safe, and provides a lengthy list of organizations and what they do if you want to donate or volunteer.
